Payment Structures

Term-Time Academic Year (school children)

x30 weeks per year split over x3 terms = x10 lessons per term. Any lessons missed due to illness are carried over to the end of term (week 11).

Payment is made in advance of the term and either paid in whole or in part due before and after the half term break.

Blocks of x5 Lesson Credits (adult learners)

Lessons are bought in blocks of x5 in advance and taken/used as credits.

Payment Upon Agreement

If it suits a student to pay weekly this can be arranged by prior agreement. However missed lessons may result in losing your slot to a regular paying student.

Illness

“Don’t be a spreader, wait ‘til you’re better”. Please be aware there is no ventilation in the studio and as such sending in an unwell child may result in the teacher falling ill (and having to cancel ALL lessons for a subsequent week). In the case of illness, please inform Georgie and she will gladly rearrange the missed lesson.

Invoices

Invoices are emailed electronically. Payments are preferred via BACS but cash is also accepted.

Rearranging

Georgie is happy to rearrange any lessons where availability is possible. Please allow reasonable notice for cancellations.

Exams

Exam fees are paid by the teacher and reimbursed by the student/parent/guardian. Receipts of entry will always be sent to the student/parent/guardian upon receipt of payment.

Grades

Graded exams take place x3 per year; Winter, Spring and Summer. Please give the teacher notice if you wish to book in for an exam. Exam fees change every academic year and per exam board. Please enquire for relevant grade fees.

Books

Handbooks, reference books and sheet music is to be ordered and paid for by the student/parent/guardian. An Amazon link will be sent in most cases where MusicRoom does not supply.

Accessories

Capos, picks, straps, strings, mics, cases and instruments are the responsibility of the student/parent/guardian to supply. These can be purchased on gear4music and links will be sent to this site where possible.

Instruments

In order to learn an instrument efficiently a student must have access to their own guitar, bass, piano, keyboard or ukulele at home. This is because practise in between lessons is essential to progress. Georgie is happy to give advice on purchasing.
